Description
Personal Heer officer's dagger to Major Max Wandrey.

Wandrey was awarded the Knight's Cross on 9.1.1944 as commander of 11./Jäg.Rgt. 1 "Brandenburg" and the Oak Leaves on 16.3.1945 serving as commander of II./Jäg.Rgt.1 "Brandenburg".

Wandrey was awarded the Knight's Cross for his part in the re-capture of the strategically important Aegean island of Leros after Italy surrendered in September 1943. He was personally responsible for capturing the British commander on the island, Brigadier Robert Tilney. Later in the war, Wandrey was promoted to major and became commander of the 2nd Battalion of Jäger-Regiment 1.

Early Eickhorn made Heer officer's dagger with orange handle and portepee. Luxury hangers. Matching patina all over.

Eichorn maker marked. Blade etched to both sides. Ornaments and a national eagle to the front. Ornaments and the name MAX WANDREY to the reverse.
