Very fine quality Third Reich period time Police officer´s shako. Hand-embroidered cockade. Black velvet backing. Aluminium chin strap and think officer´s pattern shako eagle. Made by HANS RÖMER, Neu-Ulam. Nicely maker marked to the inside as well as 58,5 size stamped. Named to the inside of the sweat-band as well as 1938 dated.
The shako is in very nice condition 1-. Only a few really small moth bites, but no holes. Unfortunately the shako eagle has its prongs missing. It is attached with wire which is going through the cap badge. Someone made two tiny holes in it to fix it. Please see close-ups.
A nice shako. Well worth upgrading with a new shako eagle.
