A German M40 helmet. A wartime type of helmet issued to Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, Polizei and Waffen-SS troops. This example was issued by the Heer.
Paint: Not much of the original paint left. Quite a bit of rust
Decals: The eagle decal is about 75%.
Lining: Flexible leather lining. Still soft. Old cord. 57 size stamped.
The prongs were opened. Shell, liner and prongs did not belong together orgiinally. Most probably added by a collector.
The lining is a lot nicer then the shell.
