Description

HELMET AROUND 1900

BODY: Excellent nickeled steel.

VISOR: Squared front visor which is indicative of an officer

FURNITURE: The primary furniture of the helmet is golden toned to include the Eagle, cruciform base, front visor trim and back trim, The fluted spike is nickeled.

CHIN SCALES: The chin scales are a gilded brass.

COCKADES: The correct officer state and Reich cockades are present.

INTERIOR: Light grey velvet back and leather front liner.

SWEATBAND: Light brown leather sweatband.

SILK-LINER: The silk liner is in good condition.

Under the silk liner we see 100% of the original hardware. There are modified holes for the eagle plate. Various marks as in “56” and “5”.

CUIRASS

Cuirass for an officer of a line-Cuirassier regiment around 1900. Made of nickel-plated steel sheet. Gold-plated scale chain, rivets and other applications. Typical lock sheets with lion's heads.

Quilted lining in very good condition

Back plate with mark “20”

Back and front plate can be stuck together over a metal latch. 

Separate leather Balt with gilded brass buckle.

Overall in very good and uncleaned condition with beautiful patina.

A wonderful set privately purchased by the Officer around 1900.
