Description

M29 Late Weimar period - early Nazi period flaming ball Reichsmarine officer's dagger made by Carl Eickhorn.

The M29 Naval officer's dagger was instituted by the Weimar Republic on June 5, 1929. It was worn without any modification by Kriegsmarine officers until the beginning of 1938, where the flaming ball pommel was replaced with the Kriegsmarine eagle pommel.

The dagger is in very impressive condition, with all metal pieces still fully gold-gilded. The grip is white and uncracked. It features a hammered Eickhorn scabbard with both scabbard screws present. The clean steel blade has naval motifs etched on both sides, and the Eickhorn 1933-1935 logo stamped on the backside. The dagger is complete with a gold-colored silver wire naval portepee.
