A very nice and rare German bicycle grenade storage box in Normandy three-tone camouflage finish. It was found on a flea market in Liege (Belgium) in the 1990s and has never been cleaned. Manufactured from stamped of formed steel. The box is three letter code marked and dated « 42 bzk » in the latch closure. Although a common period item used frequently and in mass by the German army on most of their war time bicycles « Truppenfahrrad ». This one is a very rare and extremely difficult to find example that has received a period spray application of classic three-tone « NORMANDY » colors. A normal to moderate amount of wear present. Paint rates in at approximately 97%. The box is in overall rather excellent condition. A very rare and very desirable piece of equipment painted Normandy camouflage that would make an excellent display. Rarely offered on the public market !
