Description

Superb M1940 Heer camouflaged helmet with period applied netting. Helmet is an « SE62 » with a lot number that is obscure. The helmet was found years ago in the « Mons Pocket » and has never been cleaned, totaly untouched. Exterior is camouflaged with a sand textured darker green paint. Application of the net all around and broken in a few areas. Dust and some spider webbing can be seen along the brim. The helmet's exterior features shrapnel damage with an entry and exit hole. Interior of the helmet shows the net secured under the liner, broken in a few areas and completely untouched. The liner is complete, the leather is in well worn condition, retaining its original drawstring and its original unmarked leather chinstrap. The back skirt is nicely named in white paint to « Uffz. Hollein ». Simply one of the best German battle damaged helmets out there. An amazing artifact that truly shows the horrors of war.
