Russia - Graduation badge from the Cavalry School at Elizavetgrad

Description

The badge is made from silver and enamel and features an imperial eagle with outstretched wings with the enameled St. George on a shield in the center. The starburst plaque with crowned cipher of Alexander II shows the date "18-65" in the background, a crowned letter combination “N.N.D.E” ("Nicholas Nikolaevich Friend of Elizavetgrad") is shown below. Engraved number "1133" on the bottom of the reverse of the badge.
