Very rare Waffen-SS « VW166 Schwimmwagen » front license plate. An original example recovered years ago in the Ardennes, Belgium. Steel plate construction featuring a white painted background with black painted letters and numbers « SS-931415 ». Because this number starts with « 93 », this license plate can be attributed to the 12th SS Panzer Division « Hitlerjugend ». It is in as found condition showing paint loss, rust, and wear. Although a common item at the time, genuine period examples that are not ground dug or recovered are very scarce and highly sought after. Choice !
