U.S. ARMY field camouflaged M-1936 musette bag, « 551st PIB / 517th PIR »

Description

Superb and very rare U.S. ARMY field camouflaged M-1936 musette bag. The musette bag was found in 2007 in the basement of a house in the town of Stavelot in the Ardennes, Belgium. The 551st Parachute Infantry Battalion and the 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment are the two Airborne units known for painted their uniforms and equipments in green and black paint. The camouflage paint has been sprayed over the musette bag, it is maker marked and dated « ATLANTIC PRODUCTS CORP 1944 », two different soldier’s serial numbers are stamped on the inner flap, in overall very good condition.
