Description

U.S. ARMY field camouflaged M1 Garand rifle bayonet. The bayonet was found few years ago in the village of Stavelot in the Ardennes, Belgium. The 551st Parachute Infantry Battalion and the 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment are the two Airborne units known for painted their uniforms and equipments in green and black paint. The camouflage paint has been sprayed over the scabbard. The bayonet is maker marked and dated « PAL 1943 » and has the US ordinance marking as well. It is complete with its black bakelite grips. The bayonet is in very good and as-found condition.
