Reuss - Military Merit Cross 1914

Description

The War Merit Cross 1914 was created by Prince Heinrich XXVII on May 23, 1915, while on side the HQ of the XI. Army Corps. The Cross was awarded to officers, NCOs and enlisted men alike for exceptional deeds of bravery after they were awarded with the Prussian Iron Cross 1st Class.

Only 366 crosses were awarded in total.

Here a cross made in silver with the typical matt black enamel. It would be in mint condition if it would not b for the missing enameled laurel leaf’s in-between the cross arm.

Unfortunate but still historical collectible.
