Description

Dress sword of the Chilean General Bernardo O'Higgins (1778-1842). Made by the German manufacturer E.&F. Hörster, Solingen (probably after 1945).

Clean nickel-plated steel blade showing the maker's mark of Hörster and the inscription "Bernardo O'Higgins". 

Excellent gold-plated handle fittings with silvered grip scales. No chipping. The clamshell guard bears the national coat of arms of Chile. Nickel-plated steel scabbard with gold-plated brass fittings. It has no dents. 

Nice condition 2+. The handle is slightly loose (wobbles).

Total length: 100 cm.

Comes with a maker's tag of Hörster and a seal around the scabbard ring. Also marked "Hörster".
