An extensive document grouping of Korvettenkapitän and Major of the Schutzpolizei Hermann Hohnschildt serving with Militärbefehlshaber Belgien-Nordfrankreich (Heeresgruppe B) and Wasserschutzpolizei. After World War II, he continued to serve with the Hamburg Water Police until 28. February 1948. His last rank was Major of the Schutzpolizei.
Awards: 1914 Iron Cross 1914, 1939 Clasp to the 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class, 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class, 1939 War Merit Cross 2nd Class, Honor Cross of WWI, and German Sports Badge in Silver.
The grouping consists of numerous documents (before and after 1945) and a cloth badge of the Reichswasserschutz (R.W.S. - 1919-1931). Among them are three promotion documents. Signed by the Prussian Minister of the Interior Carl Severing and the Minister of Transport Theodor von Guérard (2x).
