Impressive medal bar of a Spanish Blockade Runner consisting of a Spanish Order Of Military Merit With Red Distinction, Knight’s Cross with two bars, a Spanish 1936 to 1939 War Commemorative Medal, a Spanish Order Of Military Merit With White Distinction, a Spanish Order Of Military Merit With White Distinction (Pennsioned), Royal Military Order Of Saint Hermenegildo, a Moroccan Order of Mehdauia, a German Eagle Order 3rd Grade in gilded silver and enamel with Maker mark “21” on ring as well as a silver content mark “900” and lastly a Italian War Merit Cross. Spanish style bar with full needle system.
This medal bar truly shows within the awarded orders an activity linking Spain, Morocco, and Italy together during the times of war.
This group came indirectly from the family of the recipient. Based on their statements the German Eagle Order was awarded to him for spotting a British submarine in the port of Cádiz. He later became a lieutenant commander in the army.
