The beer keg was a gift to Gauleiter Jakob Sprenger from NSDAP District Leader Else, District Administrator & Police Chief Löser, and Lord Mayor Dr. Müller-Starke. Jakob Sprenger was the NSDAP Gauleiter of Gau Hessen-Nassau.
One side shows the inscription "UNSEREM GAULEITER SPRENGER ZUM 55. GEBURTSTAG" (to our Gauleiter for his 55th birthday). On the other side are the names of the three politicians and the coat of arms of the city of Hanau. The barrel is made from wood. Four solid black painted iron bands hold the barrel together. The bands are partially loose.
