Description

Commemorative Badge on the annexation of the Saarland. Made from Silver and gilded silver in form of a swastika. Top and bottom arm of the swastika show in raised lettering: “1 März 1935”. The attached map of the 'Saarland'-region shows in raised lettering the word: “SAAR”. Reverse with “935” silver content mark. In extremely rare case of issue by Julius Maurer G.m.b.H. Metallwarenfabrik Oberstein/Nahe.

This badge was presented only to those higher ups being intricate part of the planning and execution of the annexation.

Not to be mixed up with it's hollow pressed day badge.
