Description

Very fine M42 field tunic of an Unteroffizier serving with Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 138. The tunic was modified period time for fashion reason. The soldier preferred to have a more early look and modified his 1943 dated tunic to look like an early M36 pattern. He added an early dark green M36 collar along with M40 collar tabs as well as very early shoulder boards and an late 1930s eagle. Generally, this is an M42 field tunic issued in 1943. Furthermore, early silver buttons were added (note that the top button is a fieldgrey one.

Very nice "138" Gebirgsjäger Unteroffizier shoulder boards. Sewn-in. Machine embroidered "138" cyphers. Green piping. Machine-applied NCO tress. Hand-applied breast eagle and collar tabs. Hand-applied machine-woven Gebirgsjäger sleeve badge. All insignia were attached with the same black thread and were definitely period time attached!

Period time applied Iron Cross 2nd Class ribbon. Two pair of loops for a ribbon bar and an award. Awards were also pinned through the cloth as you can see by a few holes.

Heer 1st Class shooting lanyard attached to a button underneath the shoulder board.

Greenish linen lining. Size stamped, "Reichsbetriebsnummer" stamped and "F43" depot marked. Complete with all belt hooks.

Untouched tunic of a collector who recently passed away. He only bought from private sources. Never available on the market before!

Medium size. Tiny moth bites can hardly be seen.
