Description

Important grouping to Glider Pilot Feldwebel Bruno Horn, born in Zeist, Netherlands. According to the documentation part of this grouping done by the book author Stijn David, Horn was awarded the Gilder Pilot's Badge. Wound Badge in black, Iron Cross 2nd Class, East Medal, Cholm Shield, Transport Squadron Clasp in bronze, Ground Assault Badge and Iron Cross 1st Class.

All units and awarding days are noted. Towards the end of the war, Horn served with Fallschirmjäger Ers.u.Ausb Rgt.1 and Schleppgruppe 1. Horn was involved in the Demjansk and Cholm Campaigns as proven by his flight book.

Glider Pilot's Badge. Rare variant with large eagle. Tombak wreath and eagle both attached without the typical rivets. Period time reparied catch. Typical sharp pin for this maker. 21.3.1941 issued Flight book with a list of 320 missions in total. To the end of the book, there is a separate list of 34 enemy missions from 1942 until 1944. Signed by his Staffelkapitän. Interesting, Cholm pocket related note "Land bei der Kampfgruppe Scherer".

Extensive documentation by a collector based on original notes to the reverse of the orignal photos. 94 photos in total.

A hand-carved wooden wall pictures proven by a period time photograph part of this grouping. It was given to Horn by a friend, the artist.
