Gardes du Corps/Garde Kurassier Regiment Officer’s Dress Parade Helmet with Eagle circa 1900. Tombac helmet body with “lobster tail” neck guard. Helmet body with silver trim and rivets. Nice quality silver parade eagle with gold crown and cruciform base attached by screw post to helmet. Front of the helmet features a separately applied vaulted, multi-piece enameled Garde star with central Black Eagle Order. Nice set of rounded officers chin scales (leather ends missing) attached to cruciform cloverleaf devices with the left side having the Prussian officers kokarde and the right having the Reichs kokarde. Well-worn interior soiled tan leather sweat band with tears, and off-white silk upper portion also well soiled with torn sections. Remains of green leather lining under the front visor and old worn cloth ill-fitting tan lining to lobster tail (old replacement?). Helmet comes with original spike for service wear.
