VIEW DESCRIPTION

Interesting document grouping to Gefreiter Heinz Wanken who was killed in action in Cholm on 27.7.1942 as confirmed by several documents part of this grouping.

The certificate to the East Medal mentions his unit which was 11./Infanterie-Regeiment 386 which is known to have been fighting in the Cholm pocket.

Part of the grouping is a large size KIA certificate nicely filled out by hand.
