A quite interesting field cap! Once issued as a wartime Gebirgsjäger mountain cap, this example was later converted into an M42 sidecap by removing the front visor. You can clearly see where the "t-eagle" was attached which was typically worn by Gebirgsjäger. Also a light shadow of a Gebirgsjäger Edelweiss badge can be see to the side.
No moth damage. Zinc grommets. Size 57,
