A German M40 helmet. The type of helmet was issued to Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, Polilzei and Waffen-SS troops. This example was issued by Luftwaffe.
Paint: Original blue factory paint still visible to the inside. About 90% of the outside is covered with a brown-green period time camo paint!
Decals: No decal is visible but the shape of a Luftwaffe eagle can hardly be seen underneath the paint.
Lining: Flexible leather lining. Shrunk. One open seam. Modern cord.
The prongs were opened once. The liner was replaced.
