Nickel-plated steel blade with the maker's mark of Peter Daniel Krebs, Solingen.
Blackened wooden handle with wire wrapping and inlaid police eagle. No chipping. Nickel-plated hilt (magnetic). Original black painted steel scabbard with nickel-plated fittings (magnetic). It has no dents. The lower fitting is attached without screws as is usual with SS swords. "SS" marked on the throat and on the bottom of the crossguard.
