Branch: Pioneer. Black color piping.
Insignia: Aluminum wreath badge, cap eagle, and "Edelweiß" period time attached with all prongs in place.
Chin strap: officer's strap. The buttons are epaulet buttons, originally attached late war. The wearer was promoted to an officer, and continued the use of the cap.
Lining: Fine green color silk lining. with signs of use and age.
Sweatband: green-grey leather with signs of wear and age. Underneath a size stamp "57". The seam a bit loose to the front, but the sweatband and the visor are firmly in position.
Celluloid diamond: intact, no manufacturer marking.
Nice rare cap in good worn condition, only a few moth bites and stains on the outside.
