Description

A truly captivating piece, this is a pommel for an M38 Kiregsmarine dagger made from real gold and with a diamond swastika.

Thie piece is made by the famed maker H.J. Wilm Berlin which was the imperial "Hofjeweler" during the empire. this is the same jeweler that made some of the best orders including the Pour Le Merite.

The eagle is constructed of real gold with deep relef and detail. there are some very fine scratches and signs of wear to the gold finish. The swastika is made with 17 brilliants set in silver making a beautiful contrast to the gold eagle. at the base the threaded hole for attachment to the dagger blade shows some signs of use.  This must have truly looked incredible when fitted to the naval dagger.

Weight: 49,8g

The pommel comes with its original vevet-lined presentation case which is unmarked.

According to the information provided by our consignor, who is dissolving a large collection, the piece must have belonged to Oskar Kummetz.
