Description
Waffen-SS, Panzer 'wrap-around'-tunic (ie. 'SS-Panzerschützanzug') 'SS-Unterscharführer "Wiking". The piece - which is without doubt of the  'typical' SS-pattern - was with certainty issued and was only moderately used and/or worn. All (black-coloured- and resin-based-) buttons are present and in place. The piece has a bluish-black-coloured (linnen-based) lining that shows a single inside-pocket (as to be expected).

Both internal cords (present to vary the tunics' waist are present and in place: they are just a bit shortened during usage and wear). The piece is void of any maker- (ie. size-) stamp: this might, however, be simply have been washed away during regular usage and/or wear. The tunic shows a greyish-coloured- (and 'RzM'-type-) arm-eagle period-attached (which is period-sewn onto the tunic by means of so-called: 'zig-zag'-machine-stitching).

The tunic misses its shoulder-straps but has pair of (woolen-based- and 'RzM'-pattern-) collar-tabs attached denoting the NCOs'-rank of: 'SS-Unterscharführer' (or junior-sergeant). Of additional interest is the fact that the runes'-tab is a hand-embroidered version that has been produced from bright-silverish-coloured braid. The pair shows two sets of period-attached 'award-loops' and shows an iron-cross (ie. 'EK II.Kl.') ribbon attached.

The tunic came with a (period-attached) EM/NCO-pattern-, 'RzM'-type cuff-title (ie. 'Ärmelstreifen'): 'Wiking' attached. (This piece seems to have been period-shortened and was attached to the tunic by hand).  The tunic is fairly sized and will with certainty fit a medium-sized mannequin: it has a waist of approximately: 84 cms. and has not been shortened nor altered. Simply an untouched and rarely seen 'SS-Panzerschützanzug' that belonged to an: 'SS-Unterscharführer' who served within the: '5.SS-Panzerdivision "Wiking"!
