Description
Important grouping to Hauptmann Wilhelm Werlin who was awarded the Knight's Cross during the battle of Stalingrad. He had a "Versorgung Stalingrad" mission (see his flight book) to Pitomnik (Stalingrad) on 30.12.1942, the day the Knight's Cross was awarded to him. 
At this time, Werlin had over 320 enemy missions, destroyed over 40 aircrafts on the ground, more than 150 lorries, 8 trains and 5 ships on the river Wolga!
 
His grouping was never available on the market. Please see other lots to Wilhelm Werlin and also his father, SS-Oberführer Jakob Werlin.

His first flight book. 19.11.1936 - 30.6.1937. 476 flights. The last flight on 26.6.1937.
His second flight book. 9.7.1937 - 20.10.1938. 482 flights. The last flight on 18.10.1938.
 
His third and most important flight book. 31.10.1938 - 20.8.1944. 1545 flights. The last flight on 19.8.1944. 
 
Containing over 300 enemy missions including "Versorgung Stalingrad" flights to field airport Pitomnik in January 1943. "Eisebahnjagd" flights, "Angriff auf Truppen großen Donbogen", "Angriff auf Truppen Noraschewoje", Kursk flights "Angriff auf Panzer nördl. Woronesch", "Nachtjagd über Stalino", "Angriff auf Hafenanlagen Kertsch" (Krim), "Angriff auf Eisenbahnen bei Chirowka", "Angriff auf Kolonnen bei Falesti", "Angriff auf Panzer bei Sculeni".

Two period time newsletter articles on Werlin. One on his missions in the Channel, one on his mission in Stalingrad.
A printed picture of an eagle's head with a postwar dedication to Werlin. A Luftwaffe flight map with period time notes.
 
Finally a very interesting 5-page document on his first 280 "Feinflüge" issued on 1.12.1942 including detailed information. Werlin was awarded the Knight's Cross 29 days later, so this might have been used for to apply.
