Important grouping to the German WW1 fighter pilot Ernst Paland, born in 1892. Poland was killed in action on 21.3.1944 near Lonzac (France) as a Luftwaffe Oberst serving at Bordeaux.
 
Part of the grouping are two portrait photos of Paland as a Luftwaffe Oberst wearing his medals as well as a WW1 period time "Personal-Ausweis" with an original attached photograph of Poland in his Pilot's uniform. He wears his medals including his Pilot's Badge. The ID is signed by his Staffelführer. It is stamped "Königl. Preuss. Kampf-Eins.-Staffel Nr.9" stamped.
 
Brown and pink SA ID cards with original photographs. SA-Standarte 79 Hildesheim. Promoted a Truppführer in 1934. He joined the NSDAP and SA in 1933.
NSDAP membership card with original stamps. 
1933 issued DLV membership ID card with original attached photo. The photo shows him in SA uniform.
Luftwaffe 1936 issued driving license with original photograph in his Oberst Luftwaffe uniform.
Reichskolonialbund and "Vereinigung ehem. Goslarer Jäger" membership ship cards. His personal civilian's drivers license.
 
A document on him being killed in action as well as a Bordeaux 1944 issued "Sonderausweis". Furthermore another 9. Flakdivision "Sonderausweis" confirming Paland was allowed to have the "Kommandoflagge" on his card.
 
There is a custom made desk decoration made from a wooden air-screw. Furthermore "trench art" ashtray made from a German 1936 dated shell. A broken metal aircraft used as a desk decoration. A "trench art" letter opener from from a shell splinter. WW1 period time.
 
Two SPORTGEMEINSCHAFT KRIEGSSCHULE DRESDEN spoons.
 
Luftwaffe offner's dagger with hangers and portepee. Clean JULIUS KREBS maker marked blade. Yellow handle with minor signs of use. Aluminum cross guard and top pommel. Matching portepee. Minor rust to the iron scabbard.

Extremely are WW1 Pilot's Honor Goblet. "Chef des Feldflugwesens" marked. Made from iron. Slightly restored (re-silvered). Original markings not visible anymore.

Awards, medals, insignia:
 
Five place medal bar with miniature chain and matching ribbon bar. The ribbon bar can be seen on his portrait photos. It is exactly the same ribbon bar and can be identified by many details.
Excellent Prussian Pilot's Badge. Hollow constructed. Plated over. C.E.JUNCKER BERLIN maker marked. "800" silver stamped as well as marked with a half-moon.
It must be the badge he wears on the photo attached to his WW1 "Personal-Auweis". Excellent condition. Great patina.
 
A real silver ("900" marked) 1917 dated cigarettes case with engraved signatures of his comrades of Hann. Jäger Battalion 10.
Other WW1 and WW2 period time medals and awards as well as his Oberst Luftwaffe flying troops shoulder boards.
 
An impressive oil in its period time frame showing Paland as an Oberstleutnant wearing this medals. The oil is signed by the artist and was painted in 1943 or 1944.
