Waffen-SS gas-mask (ie. 'Gasmaske') in can as was worn and used by the SS-soldier Peter Friedrich who served within an: 'SS-Artillerie-Regiment'. The piece is named as can be seen from the glued-in (albeit somewhat damaged) etiket in the top of the can. The can retains a fair bit of its bluish-grey-coloured paint and shows the (white-coloured) number: 'N/609' on its side. The can comes with its period gas mask (and filter): the metal-based spring and some sets of spare lenses (ie. 'Klarscheiben') are also included. The set came without straps as found and shows obvious age, wear and/or (rust-) staining: it was, however, never cleaned.
