Grouping to Knight's Cross winner Oberleutnant Heinrich Südel (1920-2011). Südel served as an air gunner and observer with K.G.55 "Greif". He was awarded the German Cross on 5.10.1942 and the Knight's Cross on 23.4.1945. Südel has survived the war and attended to many veteran's meetings. Photos of him taken in modern days are available on the internet. All awards and his dagger & sword were sold to his daughter and were never available on the market before.
1939 Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross made by Steinhauer & Lück. Non-magnetic zinc core. Original paint. A very late war cross awarded in April 1945. Unless postwar made S&L pieces, this example comes with a crisp core. The black stains you see are patina, not paint.
