Wehrmacht Heer Artillerie M40 field tunic for an Oberfeldwebel. The tunic comes with 101% period time attached insignia. The original EM/NCO factory attached breast eagle was removed and period time replaced with a nice NCO/officer's machine-woven eagle. This definitely happened in time. You can see a few threads of the first eagle left. We could have easily removed them and every collector could have done if he had replaced the eagle. However, it is as untouched as it came and we left everything as it is.
This M40 tunic received a dark green cloth around the collar to provide the more fashionable "M36 look". Early collar tabs were attached by machine. The original EM/NCO once are probably still underneath. Also, dark green Oberfeldwebel boards. The had a cypher to the center ones. You can still see the hole.
Cotton liner. Size stamps and maker marked.
Very nice condition. Nicely worn. No damage or mothing.
