Description
Grouping to Matrosenobergefreiter Karl Preis, a sailor serving famous battleship "Scharnhorst". Preis was one 1.968 crew members. Only 36 were rescued when the Scharnhorst was sunk on 26. December 1943. Preis was not one of them and was reported "missed in action".
 
Certificate to the "Flotten-Kriegsabzeichen" in very good condition. 1.3.1944 dated. Posthumously awarded. A full printed example only issued to Schlachtschiff Scharnhorst sailors. DIN A5 size. Not folded. Condition 1-.
 
32 original photos including Knight's Cross winners. Many great shots taken on the Scharnhorst. All in good condition.
 
One 28.12.1943 dated newspaper about the last battle of the Scharnhorst. Original "Dedenkblatt" on the last battle of the Scharnhorst as well as three 1944 dated documents sent to his family confirming he was sunk.
