Bavaria M1855 infantry sabre for officers


Description

Bavarian officer's sabre M1855. Made by Pack Ohlinger, Solingen.

A nice etched blade with ornaments and the motto "IN TREUE FEST" to both sides. "P.O.&Co" maker marked. The brass handle comes with two engraved dedications

"L. Bösmüller s./l. Fr. Rauh Mai Ingolstadt 1892" and "Hauptmann Rauh s./l. Dr. Kreitmair 2.9.1914". In May 1892 Bösemüller presented the sabre to Rauh. 22 years later on 2. September 1914, Hauptmann Rauh passed the sabre along to Dr. Kreitmaier". 

Real ray skin finished grip. Intact wire wrapping. Black factory painted steel scabbard (around 95 % present). No dents. 

Slight signs of use.
