Heer field cap (sidecap) for officers

Description
Heer officers'-pattern side-cap (ie. 'Schiffchen für Offiziere') as was intended for usage by an officer who served within the 'Pionier-Truppen' (ie. engineer-troops).

The piece is executed in (smooth-type) field-grey-coloured wool and shows a (typical) greyish-silver-coloured- and 'silk-like'-type lining. The cap is totally void of any size- nor makers'-designation and has both venthole-rivets in place.

The cap shows a silver-coloured, 'BeVo'- (ie. flatwire-) type and officers'-pattern cap-eagle and hand-embroidered (officers'-type) cocarde in place (which are both attached by hand-stitching). Next to this, does the cap show a black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured 'Soutache-Winkel' period-attached (denoting that the officer who wore this cap was an engineer-officer).

The cap shows a (damaged) brown-coloured- and leather-based sweatband that shows two initial-cyphers (that read: 'K' and ' Sch.') attached.

The side-cap comes in a moderately used and worn condition and is - apart from the sweat-band - void of any real damage and shows moderate age and/or wear. It is approximately 56/57 cms. sized and will with certainty fit a mannequins'-head.
