Very rare "Führerdegen" of the Major of the Ordnungspolizei Günther Hellriegel.
An excellent blade etched on both sides with the inscriptions "SS-Polizei-Division" and "Dem Major der Ordnungspolizei Günther Hellriegel für seinen erfolgreichen Sondereinsatz im Generalbezirk von Weißruthenien Das Offizierskorps - 24. Dezember 1942". Flanked by oak leaf decorations. "Paul Weyersberg, Solingen" maker marked. The blade is in very nice condition.
Blackened wooden handle with inlaid police eagle and wire wrapping. Small chipping around the emblem and therefore most probably re-attached. Silver-plated hilt (magnetic). The pommel bears the SS runes on a black background. Black painted scabbard with silver-plated fittings (magnetic). It has a small dent. All screws are in place.
Comes with the police portepee and black leather hanger. "RZM" marked on the back.
Length: 89.5 cm.
