A very nice M43 field cap used by the Gebirgsjäger which was promoted to an officers one.
Grey cotton lining with signs of wear and age, one undefinable stamp on the inside. No size mark.
Both buttons to the front, and the Edelweiß on the left-hand side are attached originally and firmly in position.
The silver piping contemporary attached by hand after the soldier was promoted to an officer and kept on using his hat.
Only minor moth bites, normal signs of use and age.
