Interesting Wehrmacht M42 helmet with an outer "camo" paint in typical what collectors call a "battleship grey". The helmet shows the original fieldgrey factory paint to the inside of the shell. This is the color, Heer and Kriegsmarine helmet would have been issued.
This example however was overpainted "on board" with the grey color they used for ships and boats.
Leather liner with original name of the soldier written to it. Partially dry. Replacement cord.
Original chin straps (shortened).
A lot number stamp can be hardy determined to the reverse of the shell. The maker stamp could also be there. It could be "EF" which has also marked it this area.
