Early Luftwaffe double decal helmet which received a period time tropical camo paint for use in Africa. About 85-90% of the tropical tan color camo paint are still cover the shell. Saw dust was mixed into the paint.
Both decals were original covered with camo paint. The national shield still is. The eagle decal was recovered.
Darkened leather liner with a replaced cord. Soft. Large size 59 or 60. Unopened rivets.
Maker marked chin strap. Soft. Serious signs of age.
No markings visible to the shell.
This helmet was part of the collection of Jose, R. Figueroa. The author published this helmet on the cover of his book "TROPICAL HEADGEAR OF THE GERMAN WEHRMACHT IN WWII: PICTORIAL REFERENCE GUIDE VOLUME 2".
