Waffen-SS black Panzer wrapper

Description

A black field jacket (nicknamed "wrapper") as worn by Panzer soldiers of the Waffen-SS. A privately purchased example worn by a leader in the rank of an SS-Obersturmführer serving with regiment "Deutschland".

Sleeve eagle: hand-embroidered officer's type. Attached by hand.
Collar tabs: leader's pattern with strips and three rank pips. Rank: SS-Obersturmführer. Machine-attached tabs with a pink color silk piping. The same piping is going around the collar and perfectly matching in condition and patina.
Shoulder boards: Sewn-in. Pink. SS-Obersturmführer

"Flatwire" officer's pattern cufftitle attached by machine.

Lining: black silk. Sleeve lining from black silk with white stripes.
Markings: Unmarked since this is a privately purchased example. It comes with a tailor's label attached to the neck: "Uniformfabrik Franz Fiedler"
Buttons: Complete. All are attached with the same thread.

There are two pair of award loops as well as one embroidered hole for an Iron Cross 1st Class with screw back. The screw back has left some clear shadow and so did the front side of the iron cross when you look further down. The wrapper must have been stored folded up with medals for decades.

No moth damage. Minor signs of wear. Excellent and extremely rare!

Please see last pictures for similar wrappers in wear. Non of the wrappers on the photos is the wrapper for sale in this catalog.
