VIEW DESCRIPTION

This golden jubilee medal to commemorate the golden wedding anniversary on October 8, 1892, is made from gilt silver and comes with a nice piece of original ribbon the exceptionally rare case of issue.

The gilding is tarnished but is still in an amazing condition as it shows through. The case has the anniversary date imprinted in gold on the brown leather lid, just below the ducal crown.

Fantastic and rare possibility to obtain a complete set.

This medal is part of a medal group of an unidentified Weimar citizen.

Grand Duke Carl Alexander of Sax-Weimar created the Golden Jubilee Medal to the golden Wedding Anniversary on October 8, 1892, as a memento for all participating guests and staff. The medal was awarded in gold, silver and bronze. A total of 772 medals were coined. There are in-official larger medals table medals known. Only 25 real golden medals were coined for royalty.
