Description

The medal bar consists of an Iron Cross 2nd Class, 1914, a Honor Cross of WWI, a Mecklenburg War Merit Cross 2nd Class, 1914, a Hamburg Hanseatic Cross, a Prussian Long Service Award for officers (25 years), a Prussian Centennial Medal, a House Order of the Wendish Crown - Knight's Cross in real gold, a Mecklenburg-Schwerin Order of the Griffin - Knight's Cross with Crown (small chip) in gilded silver, and a Saxe-Weimar Order of the White Falcon - Knight's Cross 2nd class, 1st type "CA" (small chip) in silver. 

The wearer of this medal bar was Generalmajor a.D. Adolf Franz Rudolf Friedrich Theodor Gottlieb von Sell, 1863-1940.

He received the Griffin Knight with crown in 1904 as Captain in the 90th FR and the knight of the Wendish Crown in 1908 as Major of the 117th Infantry regiment. The missing medals are a Prussian Red Eagle Order 4th Class and the Mecklenburg Commemorative Medal Friedrich-Franz III.

He later became an Oberstleutnant in the 114th Infantry Regiment and was promoted to Generalmajor on March 31, 1920.
