Description

Large medal bar of a Bavarian colonial warrior with 4 awards: In the first place a military merit cross of the Bavarian Military Order of Merit with swords (without flames between the cross arms), awarded in this design between 1891 and 1905, especially for colonial merit. Only about 50 of this class were awarded to members of the Bavarian contingent for the battles in China. Silver, with golden medallion, in the ring marked "EQ" (= manufacturer Eduard Quellhorst in Munich), the rear medallion improperly replaced by a silver plate with imperial eagle from old coin, enamel breakouts, partially repaired, medallion twisted; followed by a military decoration 2nd class on cobatant ribbon, on wire eyelet; attached above the two mentioned awards combat clasps "Tientsin", "Peking" and "Fouphing; in third place, the gold-plated China commemorative medal; the bar is completed by a Bavarian military service medal 3rd class (for 9 years’ service by a non-commissioned officers). The ribbons in Bavarian style.  Terminated with dark blue felt and needle system.

The mount of the combat clasps above the respective order/decoration suggests that the medals/decorations were awarded for the corresponding battles.
