A very nice and very rare matching pair of early MP38u40 pouches in rayon web construction. Typical and textbook manufactured set by the firm « Friedrich Offerman u. Soehne, Lederwarenfabrik, Bensberg » using the maker’s code « DKK ». They are made from an olive green rayon blend webbing material which is finer in quality and durability. The front of the pouches feature brown supple leather straps with grey painted metal tips and aluminum rivets. This maker is known for that feature along with the rectangular stitching on the retaining loops. Both pouches are clean in condition with stitching in solid shape. The markings including the maker, date « 1941 », and waffenamt are located on the inside of the flaps. They are stamped in a purple hue ink. Weapon destination markings are located on the top back and are present. Leather belt attachment loops are in very good condition. A very difficult set to find in this variation and rarely offered on the market.
