Beautifully preserved Police Shako for officers made by Hans Dürbeck Wien.
The piece is in a remarkable state of preservation with 99% of the wool an black leather finish intact. The aluminum strap and eagle also show beautifully with the original finish. This is the heavy type officer's eagle. Beyond the cockade we see a tuft of white horse hair for officers. Iniside there is a clean leather band clearly marked with size 57. The Liner is nearly perfect and it is likely that this helmet was never worn.

These are very rare to find in this state of preservation and will present beautifully in any collection.
