Description

A choice M1935 Heer single decal combat helmet with leather carrier rig. The helmet is a « ET64 » with a lot number of « 4614 ». Exterior of the shell has its original and early green factory applied coating, rating in at 97%. The Heer decal has been factory lacquered, rating in at 98%. The national shield has been removed as per regulations of the time. The removal was done with somewhat of care and only exposing the steel in small areas. Split pins are present, secured highly and retain the majority of their factory apple green paint. The helmet comes with a standard German issued cavalry helmet carrier strap. Factory produced and issued example. Made from a proper thick brown leather. The carrier retains the early heavy metal clip for saddle mounting. Also maker marked. These are commonly seen in use during the early campaigns on all fronts. One of the harder to find and true harrier carrier straps. The helmets interior is in excellent condition. Reinforced aluminum band. The leather liner is complete with drawstring and chinstrap that is nicely maker marked and dated « Otto Stephan Mülhausen TH 1937 ». It is also blue ink stamped with the size « 56 ». Dome stamp is present and readable. The back skirt is named to the soldier. A very difficult to find rig and reminiscent of the early campaigns. A choice and unique set!
