Description

A stellar M1935 Luftwaffe three-tone bailing wire camouflage combat helmet. The helmet is a « SE66 » with lot number « 4947 ». The helmet is a reissued single decal Luftwaffe helmet that has had bailing wire applied with a hand applied brush painted coating of camouflage in three colors. The colors of tan, green and brown are evenly spread throughout the helmets exterior. It covers both the shell and the wire itself. In the detailed photos provided below you can see the proper patina and aging over the years. Proper rim wear and overall still retaining a matte texture to the paint. Covering and still remaining at around 92%. Some areas of heavy application and several areas of drips are present. The eagle is still visible under the camouflage. The helmets interior is untouched and undisturbed. Complete liner is present. Supple but lived in with a dark brown color and some flaking around the rim. The liner is named to « HANSEL ». It is also named to « HANSEL » in the front lid. Not an uncommon feature and found on other Luftwaffe helmets before. Leather liner is ink stamped « 58 ». Chinstrap is complete and has seen use but remains serviceable. Overall a unique and desirable wire camouflage combat helmet. A choice and top shelf helmet.
