VIEW DESCRIPTION

Luftwaffe Bf 109 armoured headrest, so called "Galland Panzer". The armored glass is in place. The Galland Panzer was "invented" in 1941 by Adolf Galland and his mechanic. He was unsatisfied with the rear view visibility on the 109 so he ordered his mechanic to make him a transparent armoured headrest. It become a standard field modification as early as November 1942 for all Bf 109.

Size: 38,5x33x7cm.

Very hard to find.
