A very nice M1942 Heer single decal combat helmet with a special camouflage wire attachment system. The helmet is an « ckl64 » with a lot number « 3132 ». The exterior retains over 95% of its factory dark feldgrau paint finish. Helmet has scrapes, abrasions and several areas of scratches. The nicely toned Heer decal rates in at 97%. All split pins are intact, securely fastened and retain their finish. A special type of zig-zag wire runs around the perimeter and over of the helmet, attached in two areas along the rim. Wire has oxidized nicely over the years and completely undisturbed. The helmet's interior is in good condition. The liner is complete, the pigskin leather is still supple. Retains its original drawstring and complete leather chinstrap, maker marked and dated. Dome stamp is present as well. Truly a unique wire helmet with loads of character !
