An exceptional USM1 fixed bale front seam 1st Infantry Division helmet. This helmet from the famous 1st Infantry Division « BIG RED ONE » was found in the early 2000’ in the small village of Robertville in the Ardennes, Belgium. The combat helmet features a period hand painted emblem of the division on the front. The shell retains its original factory web straps. The helmets liner that was found with the helmet features the same divisional emblem with the same exact details of application as the exterior. The interior liners web suspension system is almost complete but has suffered of a bad storage and some parts have been pinned. The original sweatband is present. The liner comes with a nice early leather chinstrap with green painted buckle. Truly a magnificent helmet set to one of the most prestigious US infantry divisions to serve in the Second World War.
